The Strong And Sturdy Kelty Quartz Tent

A variety of tents are being designed by Kelty. Among them the most prevalent one for mountaineering are the Kelty Quartz Tent. Among the quartz tents too, many varieties are available to suit the needed purpose. Generally the most commonly available are the Kelty Quartz1, the Kelty quartz2 and the Kelty Quartz4 tents. 

In general these tents with their accessories are very light in weight and hence, easy to carry. These tents are not as heavy and rugged as the other mountaineering tents. Moreover, there are a variety of other features which sets it apart from the rest of the tents available in the market.  The Kelty Quartz1, for single person, has one door. It can be used in all the four seasons and weighs 5 lb 6 oz. Costing around $160.65, it has a dimension of 86" x 43" x 32" and a stuffed size of 7" x 25".

It has the patented FlyBoy anchoring system of the Kelty's. A patch remains permanently stuck on the fly and a clip which holds the fly, poles and the body together. Tendons remain attached on the fly, which sticks the stakeout points with the FlyBoys, preventing movement of the tents during heavy winds. The Kelty's ArcEdge is used, which lifts the seams of the floor construction from the ground, preventing water leakage. 

The Kelty Quartz2 can accommodate two persons. Unlike the other tents available in the market, it has got two doors and two large vestibules. It has got a stuffed size of 10" x 28", and a dimension of 88" x 59" x 34" when opened. Having a market value of around $196.35, it weighs 7 lb 10 oz. The floorplan has been designed such that it maximizes the inside area.

A clear window has been put up at the vented ripstop rainfly, such that one can have a glance outside without opening the door. A number of pockets are present on the internal surface for storage. The Kelty's patented FlyBoy anchoring system prevents it from heavy storms. Though the maximum height is quite low but, it can be used for all the four seasons, with moderate weather.  The Kelty Quartz4, which can accommodate four persons, has got almost similar features as that of the Kelty Quartz2, except for the size. It has a dimension of 110" x 80" x 52". Weighing 11 lb 2 oz, it is valued at $249.99, in the market. It has a floor space of 54 sq.ft and 1800mm PU Nylon Taffeta is used as the floor material.   The Kelty Quartz tents can be the right choice for most of the tours, unless we are going for something really big as mount K2.
